JUNIOR OLYMPIC SHOOTING CLUB

A grassroots rifle shooting program intended to develop a pool of dedicated rifle shooters who will eventually fill the spots in the U.S. Olympic Shooting Teams of the future.
Boys and Girls 10 to 17 years old go through a six week basic course of firearms safety and shooting fundamentals. The Junior club is a 100% NRA club. Cost: $20. This includes a one year NRA Junior membership ($15) and $5 for the course. Graduates of the Basic course receive a certificate of accomplishment and a Jr. Olympic patch on a baseball cap.
Advanced classes stress the elements of firing a perfect shot from four competitive shooting positions; prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing. Certificates and patches are awarded as the student progresses in shooting skills; for Pro-Marksman, Marksman, Sharpshooter, and Expert.
We use Club owned precision .177 Sporter air rifles on a 10 meter indoor range. The Sporter rifle is used in State and National competition. The top two shooter in each class at the State Championship are sent to the Olympic Training Center at Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cost for Advanced classes is $20 per year. All Students supply their own pellets.
